The train of life has taken me for another ride.
I have headed in countless directions before and reached so many destinations.
But I’m always on borrowed time, living in fleeting moments, knowing very well that soon I will have to take that ride again.

In the meantime, I can walk the tracks and see the life all around me.
I can take my time getting to know it, living in the moment, gradually stepping into another way of life.

A whistle awakens my wandering mind. The train is approaching the junction. I have to get out of the way, but I’m happy I don’t have to step aboard this time.
I have not been on this new journey for long.

I look inside and see the shadows of others still riding their trains of life, and I wonder where they are headed. How long will their journeys be?
Our glances meet briefly, our smiles mirror each other.

Our paths may never cross again, but we know other people will walk the tracks with us until it is time for another ride in the train of life.
